Schlumberger Sees Latin America, Middle East As Growth Hotspots
The chief executive of Schlumberger says he expects international oilfield activity to grow in 2H of 2021 by a double-digit percentage faster than the same period last year. The expansion would likely start in Latin America and the Middle East, where companies have oil projects that take less time than others to start up, Schlumberger CEO Olivier Le Peuch says. Deep-water activity stands to grow the most in 2021, particularly in the second half of the year, Le Peuch says. In North America, Schlumberger's revenue rose in 4Q but it's focused on lifting margins this year on oil-well construction, digital operations and other businesses as oil-company spending remains constrained.
