Hess Corp. Posts Narrowed Second-Quarter Loss
Hess Corp. (HES) The New York oil and gas exploration and production company reported a quarterly loss of $130 million, or 48 cents a share, compared with a loss of $449 million, or $1.46 a share, a year ago.
Sales and operating revenue rose 28% to $1.53 billion for the second quarter, while total revenue and nonoperating income reached $1.57 billion.
The company's exploration and production operations swung to a profit of $31 million in the latest quarter from a loss of $354 million a year ago.
