据全球能源新闻网2019年7月28日利雅得报道,沙特阿拉伯能源大臣哈立德•法利赫日前在新德里表示,沙特阿拉伯计划在两年内把国内东西向输油管道的输油能力提高40%,这样沙特阿拉伯更多石油出口就可以避免通过霍尔木兹海峡。
法利赫还表示,在该地区油轮遭到袭击、一艘悬挂英国国旗的船只被伊朗扣押之后,作为立即实施的第一步,石油进口国应立即确保通过海湾口这条战略航道的货物安全运输。
法利赫说,国际社会应该迅速采取行动,保护石油供应,确保霍尔木兹海峡的安全。全球大约五分之一的石油需求量要经过霍尔木兹海峡。
法利赫在访问印度期间接受媒体记者采访时表示,石油进口国“必须尽其所能保护自己的能源运输,因为沙特阿拉伯无法独自承担这一责任”。

Saudi Arabia aims to raise the capacity of its east-west pipeline by 40 per cent in two years so more of its oil exports can avoid passing through the Strait of Hormuz, the energy minister said Khalid Al Falih also said importers should, as a first immediate step, secure shipments through the strategic waterway at the mouth of Gulf, after attacks Al Falih said the international community should take swift action to protect oil supplies and secure the Strait, through which about a fifth of the world’s oil passes.
