Saudi Aramco's Bonds Continue to Perform Poorly
The bonds of the Saudi Arabian Oil Company, better known as Saudi Aramco, continue to perform poorly after their debut earlier in April, with CreditSights noting that they generated excess returns of minus 0.68% last week. Excess returns since index inclusion at the end of April stood at minus 1.02% at the end of last week. Saudi Arabia's hugely profitable state-owned oil company raised $12 billion in bonds last month, receiving orders of over $100 billion, a sign of large investor interest to lend money to the Saudi giant.
