DJ Oil Jumps as Major Producers Consider Output Cut
U.S. benchmark oil prices rose sharply Thursday after briefly dropping below $50 a barrel for the first time this year, as investors bet Saudi Arabia and other top producers will decide next week to reduce production levels.
Light, sweet crude for January delivery ended 2.3% higher at $51.45 a barrel Brent, the global crude-oil benchmark, was 1.3% higher at $59.51 a barrel.
