Dutch eye speedier Groningen natural gas cut to 19.4 Bcm/year from Oct 18
Natural gas production from the giant Dutch l-cal gas field Groningen will be capped at 19.4 Bcm/year as early as October 2018, the Dutch government said in a draft proposal presented The production cap for the current gas year is 21.6 Bcm.
"The decline in gas production [to 19.4 Bcm/year] is in line with the government's phasing out plan," the government said.
The draft proposal is available for inspection until October 4, 2018, and the final decision will be adopted by the government in November.
The proposal was in line with the government's plan to phase out gas extraction at Groningen.
