OMV AG Swings to Net Profit in 2Q as Sales Rise
OMV AG (OMV.VI) said Thursday that it swung to a profit in the second quarter Net profit at the Austrian oil-and-gas company was 203 million euros ($237 million) compared with a loss of EUR1.03 billion the year earlier.
In adjusted terms, net profit fell 4% to EUR272 million, falling short of company-compiled analyst expectations of EUR350 million.
Sales grew 11% to EUR5.71 billion due to higher prices in downstream, and increased sales volumes and higher prices in upstream, OMV said.
