Europe PVC prices for CIS markets up €40-50/tonne in July
European polyvinyl chloride (PVC) shipments to CIS markets in July rose €40-50/tonne as supply remained tight, according to an MRC Price Report.
Deals for July PVC shipments were agreed at €1,390-1,460/tonne FCA (free carrier) CIS, up from €1,350-1,510/tonne FCA CIS.
The European ethylene July contract price was agreed up by €40/tonne, compared with June.
However, the main factor in the pricing of European PVC in the past year has been the imbalance of supply and demand, with the lack of material in July persisting.
Despite record high prices, demand for PVC remained healthy in CIS markets.
Many market participants in the PVC grade K58/70 market said they had not been able to replenish their inventories in full for at least three months.
