Valaris wins drilling contracts from ExxonMobil, Mubadala Petroleum
Offshore drilling company Valaris won a spat of new contracts and contract extensions, boosting its revenue backlog to US$285 million, which include drilling for ExxonMobil in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and Mubadala Petroleum in Thailand.
The company, which operates a rig fleet of ultra-deepwater drillships, versatile semisubmersibles and modern shallow-water jackups, said it was awarded the followed in the last month:
- VALARIS JU-87 awarded a 21-well contract with ExxonMobil in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico that is expected to commence in November 2019, with an estimated duration of 295 days
- VALARIS JU-115 contract extended due to the exercise of a four-month priced option with Mubadala Petroleum offshore Thailand from March 2020 to July 2020
