EIA Lifts 2019 Forecasts For U.S. Oil Output And Prices
The U.S. Energy Information Administration raised its forecasts for this year's U.S. crude-oil production and prices, and lowered its expectations for 2019 natural-gas prices, according to the Short-Term Energy Outlook report released Tuesday. The EIA forecasts 2019 U.S. crude production of 12.36 million barrels a day, up 0.3% from the June forecast. It also lifted its 2019 West Texas Intermediate price outlook by 0.5% to $59.58 a barrel. For Brent crude, however, it expects an average of $66.51 a barrel this year, down 0.3% from the June forecast. The EIA left the WTI and Brent price outlooks for 2020 unchanged.
