据AzerNews网站2019年1月7日巴库报道，阿塞拜疆Trend通讯社援引英国石油公司（BP）的话报道说，阿塞拜疆的沙赫杰尼兹大气田的天然气总产量日前达到了1000亿立方米。
BP在一份声明中表示：“这一里程碑是在去年12月底实现的，距离我们首次宣布启动该大气田商业天然气生产和南高加索管道运营的时间恰好12年。”
BP表示，2006年12月15日宣布的沙赫杰尼兹大气田的首次天然气生产标志着该气田开始第一阶段的开发，从那时起，天然气已成功、可靠地输送到阿塞拜疆、格鲁吉亚和土耳其的市场。
2018年注定会成为沙赫杰尼兹大气田的下一个具有里程碑意义的年份，它标志着沙赫杰尼兹大气田第二阶段开发按照计划在6月30日开始向土耳其提供商业天然气。自2006年投产以来，沙赫杰尼兹大气田的凝析油总产量超过了1.96亿桶。今天的产量来自10口SDA井和6口SDB井。

"The milestone was achieved at the end of December, exactly 12 years after we first announced the start-up of commercial gas production from the field and start-up of operations of the South Caucasus Pipeline," said a message from BP.
First production from the field announced "2018 was destined to become the next biggest milestone year for Shah Deniz. It marked the commencement of commercial gas deliveries to Turkey from Shah Deniz 2 as planned Shah Deniz – located in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea is the largest ever gas discovery made by BP. The giant field covers approximately 860 square kilometres. The field was discovered in 1999.
The estimation of gas initially in place of the whole Shah Deniz field is over 1 trillion cubic metres and 2 billion barrels of condensate.
