Strong exports drive US crude stocks lower for third consecutive week
US crude supply declined for a third consecutive week last week amid continued strong export activity and robust refined product demand, US Energy Information Administration data showed Wednesday.
Nationwide commercial crude inventories fell 497,000 barrels to 441.46 million barrels during the week-ended December 14, EIA data showed.
The inventory draw was roughly in line with the five-year average for this week of a 645,000-barrel decline, but was well off from wide-ranging market expectations. Analysts surveyed Monday by S&P Global Platts expected a 3 million-barrel draw.
