At the request of Mexico's new administration, the country's National Hydrocarbon Commission (CNH) The new administration argued that Mexico needs to evaluate existing contracts and its energy policy to ensure it will increase hydrocarbon output and state revenue, CNH said in a webcast session Tuesday.

In round 3.2, Mexico was offering 37 areas with 260 million barrels of oil equivalent of prospective resources. In round 3.3, CNH was auctioning nine shale blocks with 1.1 billion boe of prospective wet and dry gas resources.
The new administration should not leave out the awarding of gas blocks as a way to increase Mexico's energy security, CNH Commissioner Hector Moreira Rodriguez said.
