Abu Dhabi's Bu Hasa oil expansion moves ahead to add 100,000 b/d capacity
Abu Dhabi's expansion of the Bu Hasa oil field moved forward Wednesday with the award of a major contract for the $1.4 billion upgrade to add 100,000 b/d to capacity by the end of the decade.
The project will increase Bu Hasa's output capacity by about a fifth to 650,000 b/d "This significant investment in the Bu Hasa field will enable production capacity to be increased and generate additional value," said Sultan Al Jaber, ADNOC group chief executive in the statement.
Bu Hasa is part of Abu Dhabi's plan to ramp up output capacity in the coming years.
