Continental Says Bakken Could Produce 40B Barrels
Continental Resources believes the Bakken shale could produce as much as 40B barrels of oil, up from its previous estimate of 20B. Continental President Jack Stark says new technology is allowing producers to get more out of the basin and there are as many 50,000 wells more to drill there. Continental is currently producing 167,000 barrels a day in the Bakken, which it said was a record level.
