DJ Rising LNG Prices Seen Capping Demand Growth
BMI Research was surprised by the amount of global demand growth in 2017 for LNG but added that continued sharp supply increases would keep prices pressured through at least 2019. Now renamed Fitch Solutions, the firm says rebounding prices will cap demand somewhat for the next decade as it predicts 5% average annual increases in usage, "outperforming the wider energy complex." Asia will continue to drive demand growth for LNG, adds Fitch Solutions.
