Spanish LNG imports rise in September
Spain’s imports of liquefied natural gas rose 2.4 percent in September when compared to the same month a year ago, according to the data released by the LNG terminal operator, Enagás.LNG imports reached some 12.2 terawatt hours (TWh) last month as compared to 11.9 TWh in September 2017, the Enagás data shows.
Total natural gas imports, including piped supplies, rose 9.3 percent to 29.5 TWh. Pipeline supplies from Algeria rose to 13.7 TWh, as compared to 11.4 TWh in September 2017.
Qatar was the biggest LNG supplier to Spain last month with some 5 TWh, followed by Nigeria with 3.7 TWh.
The rest of Spain’s September LNG imports were sourced from Trinidad (1.67 TWh), Russia (0.99 TWh) and Peru (0.85 TWh), according to the Enagás data.
