FERC issues draft environmental impact statement for Rio Grande LNG
NextDecade Corp. has announced that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued a draft environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Rio Grande LNG project and the associated Rio Bravo Pipeline.
The LNG project will be located in South Texas, US, while the Rio Bravo Pipeline will originate in the Agua Dulce area. According to the statement, the draft EIS issued was prepared in accordance with statutory requirements in the National Environmental Policy Act. FERC is the primary agency responsible for the review and permitting of LNG facilities in the US. Its thorough process includes a detailed review of environmental, engineering, social and other elements of proposed projects.
