DJ IEA Says Not Planning to Tap Oil Stockpile Despite Iran Sanctions
The International Energy Agency is not debating a release of its members' strategic oil stockpiles despite supply risks, its chief executive said Tuesday.
Speaking at the Oil & Money conference in London, Fatih Birol, the executive director of the IEA, said "we are not discussing this issue...Currently, it's not Mr. Birol said oil prices, currently at a four-year-high, could endanger a fragile global economy. But he said producers, rather than consumers, should make up for lost barrels.
